Melisa loves all things accounting and tax related. She has served clients across the United States in areas of tax compliance, financial reporting, auditing and business consulting. She is known for her extensive expertise in private foundations, public charities, other charitable estate planning entities and for-profit entities.

Melisa’s expertise is unique in that during her 15-year career, she has served as a collegiate accounting professor, a business consultant, a compliance manager, business owner and an executive director of an operating private foundation. She leverages her experience as a collegiate accounting professor to help guide and teach business owners on a variety of topics, such as social media, multi-generation marketing and the importance of succession planning. In addition to her business consulting experiences, she has assisted a various non-profits in gaining their tax exempt status.

Melisa provides exceptional advice because she understands the depth and breadth that any one decision could affect. She has managed a non-profit and for profit business, worked with high wealth donors on charitable planning, and has technical compliance expertise. This combined knowledge allows Melisa to dive deeper into the impacts of potential decisions with her clients.

Furthermore, Melisa partners with her clients to help guide them in telling their story through financial and non-financial metrics to their decision makers. In addition, she uses her knowledge of various industries to help identify and establish key performance indicators/social impact metrics, and assist in strategic planning processes and other critical topics.
